、2022年高考英語(yǔ)大二輪復(fù)習(xí) 第一部分 閱讀理解 專題一 閱讀理解 第4講 詞義猜測(cè)題即時(shí)演練 [xx·重慶一診]A study involving 8,500 teenagers from all social backgrounds found that most of them are ignorant when it es to money. The findings, the first in a series of reports from Nat West that has started a five-year research project into teenag

、ers and money, are particularly worrying as this generation of young people is likely to be burdened with greater debts than any before. University tuition fees (學(xué)費(fèi)) are currently capped at £3,000 annually, but this will be reviewed next year and the Government is under enormous pressure to_r

、aise_the__ceiling. In the research, the teenagers were presented with the terms of four different loans but 76 percent failed to identify the cheapest. The young people also predicted that they would be earning on average £31,000 by the age of 25, although the average salary for those aged 22

、 to 29 is just £17,815. The teenagers expected to be in debt when they finished university or training, although half said that they assumed the debts would be less than £ 10,000. Average debts for graduates are £12,363. Stephen Moir, head of munity investment at the Royal Bank of Scotland Gr

、ill had a lot to learn about money. 1.Which of the following can be found from the five-year research project? A.Students understand personal finances differently. B.University tuition fees in England have been rising.

、C.Teenagers tend to overestimate their future earnings. D.The students' payback ability has bee a major issue. 從第一段第一句話“most of them are ignorant when it es to money”可以得出答案,“青少年傾向于過(guò)高估計(jì)了他們未來(lái)賺錢(qián)的前景”而沒(méi)有意識(shí)到他們會(huì)在未來(lái)面臨的各種債務(wù),故選C項(xiàng)。 2.The underlined phrase “to raise the ceiling” in Paragraph 2

、 probably means “________”. A.to raise the student loans B.to improve the school facilities C.to increase the upper limit of the tuition D.to lift the school building roofs 答案:C 考查詞義猜測(cè)。

A.a(chǎn)re too young to be exposed to financial issues B.should learn to manage their finances well C.should maintain a positive attitude when facing loans D.benefit a lot from lessons on personal finance 答案:B 考查推理判斷。

B.Teenagers in Britain are heavily burdened with debts. C.Financial planning is a required course at college. D.Young people should bee responsible adults.

1.background n. 個(gè)人的;私人的 1.in debt 負(fù)債 2.be concerned about 對(duì)……擔(dān)憂 3.benefit from 從……

、 balance and enables him to kick”并結(jié)合第二段中的“my drumstick acts as a propeller (螺旋槳)”可知,Nick的小腳使其游泳成為可能,故選B項(xiàng)。 6.The underlined word “distraught” in Paragraph 3 probably means “________”. A.cold-blooded B.bad-tempered C.really crazy D.extremely upset 答案:D 考查詞義猜測(cè)。根據(jù)第三段的第一句“When Nick was born, his

、father was so shocked he left the hospital room to vomit”可推知,Nick剛出生時(shí)的樣子嚇到了父母,當(dāng)時(shí)Nick的母親應(yīng)該是很難過(guò)的,故選D項(xiàng)。 7.Nick abandoned the electronic arms and legs because____ ____. A.his family couldn't afford them B.his classmates didn't like them C.they were too heavy to handle D.they affected his appearance

根據(jù)第五段最后一句中的“and they turned out to be much too heavy for Nick to operate, affecting his flexibility quite significantly”可知,電動(dòng)的胳膊和腿太沉了,使他的靈活性大受影響,因此在嘗試一段時(shí)間后,他不再使用它們了,故選C項(xiàng)。 8.Which of the following statements is true? A.Nick's parents were very strict with him. B.Nick's family accepte

、d his disability at his birth. C.Nick's mother was to blame for his disability.
