111 云南省開遠四中高中英語必修二《Unit2 The Olympic Games》教學設計 Unit 2 The Olympic Games Reading —— An Interview 教學設計 一、教材分析: 1.教材概述 本單元以世界性的體育盛會──Olympic Games 為話題,旨在通過本單元的教學,使學生了解奧運會的起源、宗旨、比賽項目以及古現(xiàn)代奧運會的異同。這一課時主要圍繞閱讀部分講解,文章通過一個虛擬的采訪——兩千年前古希臘作家帕薩尼亞斯與一位當代女孩李燕的對話,向?qū)W生介紹了古今奧運會的異同及奧運會的一些基本情況。 2.教學目標 1).知識目標: 學習掌握有關奧運會和文中涉及的詞匯,如:compete,competitor, medal, Greece, Greek, athlete, stadium, gymnasium;host, magical, interview, admit, a set of, as well as等。 學習掌握一些用于討論奧運會的結構句式,如: What are the similarities and differences about the ancient and modern Olympics? 2).技能目標 通過skimming, scanning, careful-reading,generalization等閱讀技能訓練,讓學生進一步熟悉和掌握一些閱讀技巧,獲取關于奧運會的信息,并培養(yǎng)學生運用信息進行推理、判斷的能力。 3).情感目標: 通過學習奧運會的知識,培養(yǎng)學生對體育運動的熱愛。學習更快,更高,更強的奧運精神,培養(yǎng)學生團體合作、努力拼博、積極向上的精神。 3.教學重點 本課的教學重點是幫助學生了解古、今奧運會的異同點和其一些基本情況。 4. 教學難點 本課的教學難點是訓練學生獲取信息、分析思考和解決問題的能力,培養(yǎng)學生帶著問題去閱讀文章的習慣。 二、教法學法分析 1.教法 新課程標準強調(diào)了以學生為主體,教師作為引導者的角色,因此,就本課的學習,可采用問答法,快速閱讀法,討論法,合作學習法等多種教學方法。鑒于本文內(nèi)容會涉及大量的圖片信息,將借助多媒體的直觀教學手段和傳統(tǒng)教學方式相結合,上一堂趣味性、知識性融為一體的閱讀課。 2.學法 課前預習,搜索奧運會相關知識,發(fā)揮學生的自學能力。 精讀教材,有利于理解文章的重點和難點,提高學習效率。 課后練習,有助于學生復習課堂知識點,鞏固所學要點,查漏補缺。 三 教學過程 Step 1. Lead-in & warming up. 師生互動: 教師通過free talk向?qū)W生提出問題“Do you like sports? Which sports do you like?”然后通過多媒體展示一些學生熟悉并喜歡的體育明星及體育運動的畫面,從視覺上激發(fā)學生對本話題的興趣,學生根據(jù)圖片進行知識搶答:Having a competition. Can you speak out the English names of the following sports as quickly as possible? Step2.Pre-reading 老師給出兩個有關奧運會的問題,What do the five rings stand for? What is the motto(口號) of the Olympic Games? 學生一一搶答,從而將學生引向課文的學習。 Step 3. Fast reading 1. 個人活動:教師事先預設六個問題 要求學生快速閱讀,并回答這六個問題: Who is Pausanias? What does he want to do ? Who is Li Yan? What are two main sets of Games? How often do we hold the Games? What’s the motto of the Olympics? Step 4. Careful reading 要求學生read once again,然后討論并回答以下問題: 1. Where do all the competitors live? A. A hotel. B. A special village. C. A restaurant. D. Nowhere. 2. Why do so many countries want to host the Olympic Games? A. To develop the economy. B. It is a great honor. C. To make the country famous. D. They want to make money. 3.Which of the following is included in the Winter Olympic Games? A. skiing and ice skating B.running races C. horse riding D. Swimming 4. Why does Pausanias think people may be competing for money in the modern Olympic Games? A. The winner can get medals. B. The winner can be awarded lots of money by their own countries. C. The olive wreaths have been replaced by medals. D. Medals are made of gold. Step 5. Discuss 班級活動: 認真閱讀課文,找出古現(xiàn)代奧運會的異同。 What are the similarities and differences about the ancient and modern Olympics?
