11、o buy the whole city 他富有的可以買下整個城市 some和any可用于不可數(shù)名詞及復數(shù)可數(shù)名詞之前。some通常用于肯定句,any通常用于否定句和疑問句中:We still have some sugar. We dont need any sugar now.我們還有一些糖。目前我們不需要糖。但在期待得到肯定答復的疑問句中也可以用some,而在肯定句中表示“隨便哪個”、“任何一個”的含義時也可以用any:Can I take some water?我可以喝點水嗎?You can take any of these apples.這些蘋果你可以隨便拿。當下列名詞指其“主要目
12、的”,即與其相關(guān)的動作時,要用零冠詞(即名詞前沒有冠詞),如Hes in bed(他睡了)中bed是為了睡覺用的)。這類名詞有bed, church, class, college(學院),hospital, market, prison(監(jiān)獄),school, sea, university(大學),work(工作地點)。但在特指的東西面前要用the:Your bag is under the bed.你的提包在床底下。泛指同類事物中的任何一個時則用a:I have never read a book of this kind.我從沒讀過這類書。在形容詞副詞的最高級前面要用the,但當most表示“大多數(shù)”時它前面則不加the:Joe Sanders has the most beautiful garden in our town.喬桑德斯擁有我們鎮(zhèn)上最漂亮的花園。Most young men have to work hard.大多數(shù)年輕人得努力工作。
