How much are these socks? They’re two dollars. Ability goals能力目標(biāo) Enable students to ask about prices. Learning ability goals學(xué)能目標(biāo) Help students learn how to ask about prices. Teaching important / difficult points教學(xué)重難點(diǎn) How to ask about prices. Teaching aids教具準(zhǔn)備 A tape recorder. multimedia Teaching procedures and ways教學(xué)過(guò)程與方式 Step I Presentation 1. To teach the new words with phonetic symbols. 2. To present the new words with some pictures. T: What’s this?. S: It’s a/an… T: What are these? S: They’re… T: Is this a …? S: … T: Are they…? S:… Step Ⅱ Match work (1a: P41) Ask students to look at the picture on page 41 and match the words with the things in the picture. T: Now we have nine words on the left of the picture and nine things marked with a, b, c, ... and i. Please match the words with the objects in the picture by writing the letter of the objects on the lines next to the words. The first answer is given. Check the answers by asking some students to read the words and the letters. T: What’re these in English? S: They’re shorts. Repeat the word shorts twice. Step III Lead-in 1.To present the word “dollar” with a picture. 2.To present the target language. T: How much is the sweater? S: It 5 dollars. T: How much are the socks? S: They’re 2 dollars/ (to ask and answer with students like this.) T: How much are they? S: They’re two dollars. Step IV. Pairwork Ask students to prepare for the dialogues above, and then act them out. T: In the picture, we can see many people too. They are asking about prices. Now please work in pairs and read the conversation. Then ask some of students to role-play the conversations. Step V Listening T: In the picture, we can see many people too. They are asking about prices. Now listen to the tape recorder, and listen carefully. Which articles of clothing do the two people talk about? Circle each article of clothing in the picture that you hear on the tape. OK? Now, listen. Play the tape twice, first listen only, then listen again and circle. Check the answers. And then ask students to work in pairs and read the conversations in 1a. Ask students to practice asking the prices of the clothes they are wearing and their school things with “yuan”. Sample dialogue: T: How much are your pants? S2: They’re forty yuan. Step VI Step7 Homework 1. Ask students to do activity 1 on page 26 in the workbook. 2.
