Lead the ss to learn how to write a holiday postcard. 3. Stimulate ss’interests of learning a new culture of foreign countries. Teaching Procedures: Step I. Revision& Leading in Have a revision of what we learned about educational visits and lead in the topic. Step II. Reading Read a post card written by Sylvia and find some information to fill in the blanks. Step III. Guessing Game Each group read a postcard and summarizes the main idea. The group leaders describe the place in several sentences to let others guess where it is. Step IV. Learn to write a postcard. 1. Give a model by showing pictures and talking orally. 2. Present a postcard written by teacher and conclude the elements of writing a postcard. Step V. Write a postcard. 1. Imagine a tour to Paris and tell what we will probably do there. 2. Write a postcard for visiting Paris. 3. Ss check their writing in pairs first and then show some of postcards to the whole class. Step VI Homework: Design a postcard Work in pairs and write a postcard for any place they like. Dear Roy, Hi! I flew here last weekend. I had some delicious food and it’s really spicy.
