Unit 2 The game that they like most is Australian football. 【教學目標】 詞匯 at the moment,period,spirit,relationship,relative, salad,grape,kangaroo,lazy 句型 1.On the first day,we took a plane tour over the rock,and I was surprised at how big it was:3.6 kilometres long and 348 metres high ! 2.The Australians have a close relationship with the British. 3.The foods that Australians like most are ham and beef with lots of salad. 4.Because most Australians live near the coast,they also love going to the beach for swimming and surfing or just lying in the sun. 5.The horse that I rode was lazy,so I was left far behind the others.But I enjoyed the slow and relaxing riding. 重點難點 1.本單元詞匯和重點句子。 2.定語從句的用法。 【教學思路】 本單元整體以閱讀為中心,通過讓學生閱讀一封托尼寫給爸爸媽媽的信,進一步體會定語從句的用法,更多了解澳大利亞的歷史及景色。并學習到一些固定搭配的短語,設計了以下幾個活動來完成本課:單詞游戲教學,讓學生用小游戲的方式來學習詞匯,使課堂變得活潑有趣;任務型閱讀,教師布置不同的任務,讓學生帶著問題完成任務,讓閱讀的效果倍增;寫作練習,主要對于“旅游”這一話題進行討論并寫作,鍛煉學生的寫作能力和思維能力。 【教學準備】 黑板,粉筆,錄音機,磁帶等。 【教學過程】 Step 1 Leading in 1.檢查學生單詞的預習情況。 請學生領讀單詞,教師糾正讀音,對于讀得好的同學,要加分鼓勵。 2.利用比賽的方式,讓學生熟讀單詞。 可以是男女比賽,也可以是左右兩部分比賽,也可以是前后兩部分比賽,教師要把朗讀變化多樣。 3.讓學生三分鐘快速背誦,并進行搶拼。 活動小結:既可以鍛煉學生的反應能力、聽力能力,更能夠提高學生的學習興趣。 Step 2 Reading and vocabulary 1.Reading and vocabulary(1—4) (1)教師用多媒體展示4張帶有澳大利亞風情的圖片,讓學生討論描述,并且讓學生猜一猜托尼的信中有可能會談到什么。鼓勵學生踴躍發(fā)言。 (2)這一環(huán)節(jié)主要訓練學生的泛讀能力。讓學生快速地閱讀托尼的信,并找出描述課本上右側圖片的句子。然后再讀一遍,完成下面的閱讀任務。 ①Read Paragraph 1 and answer the questions. a.Whom was Tony writing to? b.What transportation did Tony take on the first day? c.When the writer saw the big rock,what was the writer surprised at? d.What color do the rocks turn during different periods of the day? ②Read Paragraph 2 and answer the questions. a.The Australians are like the British in many ways.Can you give us some examples? b.What sports do they like most? Read Paragraphs 3 and 4 and answer the questions. a.Whats the weather like in Australia in Dec. b.What language do Australians speak? c.When we say“Hello”and“Dont worry about it”,how do Australians say? Read Paragraphs 5 and 6 and answer the questions. a.What did the writer do on the second day after he arrived in Australia? b.Why was the writer left far behind the others when he went on a horse ride? c.How did the writer go back to Sydney? (3)完成活動3部分:找出文中的五種顏色、四種食品、三種動物和四項體育運動。 (4)放課文錄音,讓學生聽,伴隨剛才閱讀留下的印象再次更真實地理解全文。最后,給學生5分鐘的時間完成活動4部分,然后組織小組討論答案。 2.Reading and vocabulary(5) (1)要求學生從文中找到活動5部分的8個詞,并齊讀。教師讓學生說出對于這8個詞的理解。 (2)完成活動5部分的練習。 (3)除此之外,課文中還有部分重點知識,請學生討論總結。 (4)知識點運用。 活動小結:分層次回答問題可以讓學生理解文章更加透徹,為下面的習題練習打下良好的基礎。 Step 3 Writing Do Activity 6 讓學生選擇一個他們曾經(jīng)去過的中國的地方,寫出來他們的所見所聞,注意要用過去時態(tài),要求用上定語從句。 教師給出范文: Last summer holiday my family went to Xiamen.I believe it is the most interesting place that I have ever visited.It left us a great impression.We went there by plane,and the guide took us to many places of interest.The scenery was beautiful. We climbed mountains,visited the famous temples,went to the beach and swam in the sea.What made me feel most interested in the city was that people there were very friendly.You know,since it was our first time there,we lost our way one day.The people who lived there helped us.They told us the direction very patiently.I was really surprised by their friendliness.I hope that I will have time to go there again some day in the future. 活動小結:鍛煉學生的寫作能力和想象力。 Step 4 Summary 教師帶領學生一起回顧本節(jié)課的重點。并以領讀、齊讀及反饋的方式進行鞏固練習。 Step 5 Homework 1.用活動6部分所給出的信息“the people”“food”“ways of life”“events during the trip”,來完成一篇短文。 2.預習第三單元內(nèi)容。 【板書設計】 Unit 2 The game that they like most is Australian football.
