新課標人教版課件系列,《高中英語》 必修4-1.4,Reading,簡·古多爾(Jane Goodall, 1934—)生于倫敦。自幼即對動物行為極感興趣。18歲離開學校,到赴非洲為止,她曾先后擔任過秘書以及影片制作助理。此后,她在非洲擔任古生物學家路易斯·利基的助手,與利基的合作經(jīng)驗使她能于1960年在貢貝溪動物保護區(qū)設(shè)立一個營區(qū),得以觀察該地黑猩猩的行為。1965年獲劍橋大學動物行為,學博士學位。1977年她建立了“簡·古多爾人、動物與環(huán)境研究所”。1991年,她倡議并成立了“根與芽”組織,目的是使從幼兒園到大學的年輕一代都能夠行動起來,為了環(huán)境、動物和他們自己的社區(qū)創(chuàng)造一個更加美好的世界。1995年,被英國女王授予勛爵士。簡·古多爾撰有許多書籍和論文,最著名的是,《生活在人類的陰影中》(1971), 此著作已被翻譯成15種文字。 菲利普·伯曼(Phillip Berman), 具有哈佛大學神學院比較;宗教學學位。他的獲獎作品有《信念的勇氣》、《探索意義》和《回家的旅程》。,,,,Pre-reading,Why do you think Jane Goodall went to Africa to study chimps rather than to a university?
