To learn a text about Mr. Bean. 3 To enjoy the fun of the life and don’t behave as stupidly as Mr. Bean. Teaching materials: Media player, some funny pictures Students: Class 6, Senior 2 Teaching emphasis: 1. Learn some useful reading strategies 2. Learn a text about Mr. Bean. Teaching difficulties: The ability to grasp important and useful information through reading Teaching methods: Task-based method, co-operating learning Teaching aids: Multi-media,textbook Teaching time: 40 minutes Teaching procedures: Step 1 lead-in Aim : to draw students attention to the topic Method: show some funny pictures and talk about the students’ favorite edies and edians. Step 2 1st Reading (skim reading to get the general idea) Aim : to get the general idea Methods: 1. teach the reading strategies 2. get students to read the passage quickly and summarize the main idea . Step 3 2nd reading and listening (scan reading ) Aim : to get the top sentence of each paragraph Methods : 1. teach some reading strategies 2. get students to listen and read the passage again, and find out the topic sentence of each paragraph. Step 4 3rd reading ( intensive reading) Aim : to obtain more details of the text Methods : 1. group work 2. get students to read the passage in detail and answer three questions. Step 5 Voice your opinion Aim : to develop students ability of speaking Method : Discussion Do you like this story? What do you think of Mr. Bean? Step 6 Summary ( option ) Aim : to further understand the text Method : read the passage and have a petition (4 groups) Step 7 Homework Find out all the expressions about Mr. Bean’s actions from the text 1 and fill them in the blank.
