Ability: Talk about the weather and greet each other with a new structure. 3. Cultural awareness: A new way of greetings and asking about the weather is quite a mon greeting in western countries. ⅡImportant points: A new way of greetings and the description words about the weather. Ⅲ.Difficult points: How’s the weather? It’s raining/windy/cloudy/sunny/snowing/stormy. ⅥTeaching procedures Step1. Warming up 1. Ask the Ss randomly: What’s the date today? What day is it today? How are you? Step2.Revision and presentation 1 Ask individuals what are you doing?/ what is he /she doing?/what are they doing? Show them pictures. teach new words: cook, study. 2 A guessing game. What’s he/she doing? 3 Pairwork. Ask and answer in pairs. What are they doing? They are… What’s he/she doing? He/she is…. Step3. 2a Listen and number the pictures 1-4 as you hear them. Play the tape once. 2b Listen again. Match the names with the activities. Check the answers. Step4 presentation and sing a song. T :What is Brother Bear doing? Do you know? Ss: He is sleeping. T: Yes, he is sleeping. Let’s sing the song “ Are you sleeping?” Ss sing the song together. T: Look! What’s this? It’s the sun. How is the weather? It’s sunny. Show them pictures to teach snowing ,raining,cloudy, windy. Step5 Pairwork How is the weather?= what is the weather like? A guessing game. How is the weather? Step6Let’s chant. How is the weather? How is the weather? It’s rainy,rainy,rainy……. Where is it? It’s Beijing/ Shanghai/Boston/Moscow. How is the weather in Beijing/Shanghai/Boston/Moscow. Step7 1a match the words with the pictures a-e. 1b listen and write these city names in the boxes above. Check the answers. Step8 Talk about the weather of the places in China. Who is the best reporter? Group work. Individuals to talk about it. Step8 Do exercises. Step9 Homework 1. Copy the new words 4 times each. 2.
